Home Services Overheating Overheating Assessment

Overheating Assessment

A report by UK Parliament issued on 26th June 2018, recognising that future heatwaves are predicted to be hotter and more frequent, calls for definite measures to mitigate the risk of buildings overheating. The Environmental Audit Committee says that heat-related deaths in the UK are expected to triple to 7,000 a year by 2050 unless there is an increased focus on building overheating.

This increasing problem of overheating buildings has resulted in the release of new overheating standards such as CIBSE TM52 and TM59 in recent years which are now being extensively used to comply with a growing number of legislative requirements.

Using Dynamic Simulation Modelling software (DSM) we can provide reports demonstrating compliance with the Overheating and Thermal Comfort Assessment requirements for:

Building Regulations
BB101 for schools
BREEAM overheating (thermal comfort credits)
Meeting the overheating requirements of the London Plan using the TM52 and TM59 methodologies

Commercial EPCs
Commercial New Build (SBEM)
Commercial Extensions or Conversions
Domestic Green Deal
Domestic EPCs
Domestic New Build (SAP)
Domestic Extensions or Conversions
